Aliens: Fireteam is coming in August with a slightly untried name

Aliens: Fireteam, the co-op shooter about a team of absolute badasses lining off against endless hordes of phallic extra terrestrials, will be impossible on August 24, with a slightly changed name—Aliens: Fireteam Elite.

The Left 4 Dead-divine shooter didn't exactly knock our socks off when we proverb it earlier this class. Not that it doesn't appear to be a competent crap-shooter, although we won't have a final word on it until it comes out, but bu because it follows the vivid and more claustrophobically-minded Alien: Isolation. As we said in our March 2021 preview, it feels suchlike a step rearwards: "There's so much that could be finished the Alien license, and a co-op gunman based along Aliens feels like the lowest hanging fruit."

Naturally, the other slope of that coin is that a guns-blazing firefight against alien horrors and Weyland-Yutani synthetics is the sort of thing that stands up beautiful well in its own right. The greater challenge facing Fireteam may not be the unimaginative approach to the Alien setting, only the over-copiousness of upcoming Larboard 4 Exsanguinous-alikes, including Support 4 Blood, Redfall, The Anacrusis, Rainbow Six Extraction, and Evil Dead. Information technology's a pretty packed champaign, and no sure bet that another wiretap hunt wish bear out from that crowd.

As for the make change, no reason was inclined, so I can only hypothesise that information technology's to assure players that they are indeed nation-of-the-badass-art, and not just a caboodle of grunts. (No offense.)

Aliens: Fireteam Elite is available for pre-purchase now on Steam in a $40 standard edition Beaver State a $70 deluxe, which includes the Endeavor Pass ingathering of four spot-release cosmetic DLC bundles and the Endeavor Veteran soldier Compact of more than 20 individual nonfunctional items including armour kit out skins, emotes, weapon colors and decals. Details on both editions and everything else are rising at aliensfireteamelite.com.
